The Punjab Government has launched the CM Punjab Kisan Card Program, and registration is currently underway across the province. This program, which is the largest Kisan Card initiative in Punjab’s history, aims to empower farmers by providing them with financial and technological support to improve agricultural productivity.

According to official figures, more than 12 lakh applications have already been submitted, and 3 lakh farmers have successfully received their cards. With this card, farmers have already made purchases worth two billion rupees, highlighting the immense impact of the program. Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced an increase in the number of available cards from 5 lakh to 7.30 lakh, offering a golden opportunity for farmers who have yet to register.

Eligibility Criteria for the Kisan Card

  • Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and Pakistani nationals.

  • Debt-Free Status: Applicants should not have outstanding loans with any bank or financial institution.
  • Land Records: The applicant’s land records must be available at the Land Record Center.
  • Legal Compliance: Farmers involved in anti-state or illegal activities are not eligible.

How to Register for the Kisan Card

The registration process for the Kisan Card has been made simple and accessible:

  • Send an SMS:
  • Send your PKC ID card number via SMS to 8070 using the mobile number registered in your name.
  • After sending the SMS, you will receive a confirmation message acknowledging your registration.
  • Verification:
  • The Punjab Government will verify your application within a few days.
  • If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be issued a Kisan Card.
  • Confirmation and Collection:
  • Once your Kisan Card is generated, you will receive an SMS with instructions to collect your card.

Benefits of the Kisan Card

The Kisan Card comes with several valuable benefits that can significantly boost farming operations:

  • Financial Assistance: Farmers can avail loans of up to Rs. 30,000 per acre, which can be used to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
  • Access to Subsidy Programs: Kisan Card holders will be eligible for benefits under programs like the Agricultural Tubewell Solarization Scheme, Green Tractor Scheme, and others.
  • Free Tractors and Laser Levelers:
  • Farmers cultivating 1 to 25 acres will have a chance to win a free laser leveler (valued between Rs. 5–7 lakh) through a lottery.
  • Farmers cultivating 25 to 50 acres can win a free tractor (worth Rs. 40–50 lakh) via the same lottery system.
