Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Double Payment Update: Important Information for Beneficiaries

The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is an educational scholarship program launched under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in Pakistan. This program provides quarterly stipends to children from poor and deserving families, helping them continue their education without financial hindrances. The scholarships are available to the children of women who are beneficiaries of the Benazir Kafalat Program, ensuring they have access to higher education, which can be crucial for a brighter future.

Why Was the Payment Delayed This Time?

Benazir Taleemi Wazaif operates as a conditional cash transfer program, meaning that payments are released only when certain eligibility criteria are met. This quarter, however, the payments were not released alongside the Kafalat Program payments. The reason for this is the recent summer vacation period when schools were closed, which delayed the verification process for eligible children.

Due to the summer break, schools could not confirm attendance, and BISP decided to hold off on payments until verification is completed. However, parents should not worry; once the verification process is done, children’s payments will be released with the next installment.

Double Payment Update: What Beneficiaries Should Know

Many parents are concerned that if their child’s payment was missed this time, it may not be compensated in the future. To clarify, once the verification process is complete, children’s payments will be issued as double payments in January 2025. This means that eligible children will receive the payment for both quarters at once, ensuring no financial loss for families relying on this assistance.

New Registrations for Benazir Taleemi Wazaif

Along with these updates, BISP has also announced that new registrations for the Taleemi Wazaif program are open at BISP offices across Pakistan. Women who are currently receiving financial assistance through the Kafalat Program but have not yet enrolled their children in the Taleemi Wazaif program are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.

To register:

  • Visit your nearest BISP office with your ID card and your child’s B-form.
  • The registration process is completely free, and no fees are required.
